Scared and afraid... These are words that I once thought were used only by the weak.

Scared and afraid... These are words that I once thought were used only by the weak.  I now realize that they are words used by people who have a lot to lose too.  I also have come to realize that there is a whole world that I've never experienced.  In this world you let go of all control.  Whether by choice or force, this is a world of freedom.  It doesn't always feel good and it doesn't always feel bad but that is what makes it so beautiful.  When you are always in control of your situations, there's no longer any room for surprise.  There's not much room for change.  In this world you are safe but with little freedom.  With this control is how I have always protected myself from unwanted situations.  A way to prevent the difficulties of my past/childhood from reoccurring and also a way to protect myself from my own mistakes.

Sometimes hurt can be a beautiful thing.  It can spark passion and speak to you.  We learn from these things and in turn we grow.  I haven't grown much in recent years because I've tried so hard to maintain control and avoid difficulties.  Admitting fault or wrong doing is a virtue and also a difficult thing to do, but we all make mistakes and there is a tremendous amount of freedom in admitting so.

Letting go of everything that makes you feel secure leaves you vulnerable... but it allows others to make decisions and even ones that can change your life.  Let the chips fall where they may.  Sometimes you will really screw things up!  That's a guaranty... because nobody is perfect.  Mistakes come in Big and small packages.  Some are serious and some... not so much.  When you make serious mistakes you are utterly humbled and you learn your own true feelings inside.  You learn exactly what it is that you have and what it is you don't.  This alone can be a lovely process.  Yield all of your time to that process and get as much out of it as you possibly can.  ABSOLUTELY do not deny it!  Otherwise, you've made a big mistake and the worst part of it is that it was all in vane.  Screw up, apologize and hope for forgiveness, reflect, heal, GROW!

Always remember this... The strongest part of a bone is where it was once broken and now healed

BART Pub Golf - WOW!

Now that was a party!  I cant believe we had 20 people turn out for this event, it was even better than I had hoped!  I put quite a bit of time into lining out each hole in each city and setting up discounts for our massive group...  Awesome!

For starters - ALL players must be dressed in suitable golf attire to participate in the event. An Official also was appointed to regulate the events running and enforce any penalty shot for misconduct of the rules.

For those who weren't there, we held a BART Pub Golf tournament on Feb 6th, 2010.  You might ask what Pub Golf is... well its a 9 hole series of pubs where you keep score along the way and compete with your closest friends.  It's 9 holes because each hole (pub) has to be completed in 10min or under.  Mixing many different *waters and *sodas can be difficult when it comes to 18 so for safety reasons, we do 9, haha.  Scores are tracked as follows:

Pub 5 - Guinness - Par 4.  This means that the Guinness must be finished within 4 sips in under 10 min.  If you get a hole in 1 then you are doing well but if you drink it in 5 then you are falling behind.  The person with the lowest score at the end wins!

So that is Pub Golf... I figured, lets take this a step further.  What on earth would keep us from taking this concept and stretching it from here (Walnut Creek) to San Francisco hitting holes along the way?  Safety First!  It just so happens that there is a Public Transportation System called Bay Area Rapid Transit or BART that runs between the two.

You should have seen the look on peoples faces as we hopped on and off BART explaining our story as to why we were so ridiculously dressed.   We even recruited the VP of a company (that I wont mention) that was on his way to do some Saturday work and figured... "This is something I just couldn't pass up!"

All in all I deemed the event a complete success!  This was a trial run for what will soon come to be many events based around Safety, Fun, Good Friends and Making New Ones!  Ace took home the WWF Heavy Weight Bling Belt.  He was the only one to get a Hole in One at every hole.  Congrats Ace!  There were several runner ups but as this one goes... only first place counts!

Thank you all so much for making it such a fun day!  Keep an eye on my blog for when we will be doing our next Golf Outing!!!  This time it will be for charity and you will get to shave off points for recruiting and spreading the word about Revolving Threads! I will try to get bigger discounts but good lord... I've never had so much fun with such a big event for so cheap.  Here's to planning!!! Cheers!

If you have a Rocket Ship...

The idea's that are unfolding will not have to be tailored to a niche market... they instead will be creating a new market entirely.  After careful evaluation of the best route to take in pursuing this business venture, the path has become perfectly clear.  I'm so excited about the potential of this business that I have to push some information out of my head and I apologize for not being able to line it all out for everyone just yet.  After the patent process is complete you will be able to hear all about it.

As of now there will be no venture capital involved in the business and will be completely bootstrap.  This will be re-evaluated in the near future after the patent process is complete.  There is HUGE potential with this technology and with GREAT potential sometimes comes GREAT investment.  If you are a VC and are reading this, please stay up to date with the blogs and you may have a big opportunity on your hands.

I'm bursting at my seams here not being able to give you a full description of the business plan.  I will say that every event you attend from BART Pub Golf to the highest end wedding reception you've ever seen - will want to get there hands on this piece of technology without a doubt.  The business plan incorporates a viral marketing plan that will make this explode and I cant wait to get it started!  If you have a rocket ship, why settle for the limits of the sky!  And yes, you can use that one ;)

It's easy to be successful... quite possibly easier than being unsuccessful. All you need is a shift in your mindset!

Work for What you Want!

The question is always asked... is it difficult to start your own business? The answer is yes and no. Sorry, but it depends on the person. You have to be a self motivated person with a passion for what you want to create. The process of starting a business is actually quite simple. Tedious, but simple. If you have an idea and are serious about pursuing it, ask me some questions. If you know me at all, then you know that I love to help. There are no stupid questions but I'll be very honest in saying that research will bring you your answers. Never just ask people the specific questions that you want answered. Do your research because in doing so, you will answer a hundred questions that you would otherwise be asking someone later. We call this Due Diligence!

Today a business partner of mine (Kyle Yu) and I started the process of building a website for our latest business venture. It's a bit early for me to talk about but we are actually building 2 side by side that will work with each other. I'm in the beginning stages of the patent for one of them and will soon be able to share with all of you the exciting news! I'm Loving Life and happy you're with me along the way!

My First Blog

So...

This will be my first Blog EVER! Yes, it's true; I have never created a blog in my life. Lately, I've been doing a ton of new things with life/career/entreprenuerism and everyone has been asking me what the hell I've been up to. Well, after many emails that have been brushing on all the same topics, I've decided to start a blog and let the rest of the world see what I've been up to as well.

I must warn you, many of my close friends happen to be impeccable spellers... I on the other had am not. Many of the words that you will see throughout this journey will be completely destroyed. I couldn't care less... and hopefully, I can get my thoughts across without you having no idea what I'm saying because I spell impeccable with impekible.

My hope is that you can gain some perspective though my thoughts, experiences and screw-ups and I can gain some through writing them out. I honestly have never read a blog either so maybe this will turn out to be different than the ones you are used to reading :) If this is your first time... I hope to see you again soon!

Cheers!
